Treatment for Insomnia
CBT-I is considered the first-line treatment for insomnia. It is often recommended by physicians and other health care providers to help individuals get to sleep. CBT-I is a cognitive-behavioral therapy developed for insomnia. During your treatment, your therapist will review your sleep history, identify sleep patterns, and apply CBT interventions to help you get back to sleep. CBT-I for insomnia is not sleep hygeine. The goal of CBT-I is to allow your body to understand how to get back to sleep.
